it is easy to avoid getting the common cold. just take lots and lots of vitamin-C. i take 1000 mg of Vitamin-C a day.
I also take the dissolvable Vitamin C tablets, usually 3 times a day when I have a cold. There's fair evidence that it works a bit. As for avoiding/preventing a cold, if you think it works, great — but most studies show no benefit.
